We love comfort so we offer sturdy rental gear that is durable and provides ease of movement and use. Cressi has been our brand of choice since we started operating and their Starter Pro buoyancy compensator is semi-integrated so you will not have to use those clumsy weight belts anymore. AC2 regulators equipped with a primary and secondary second stage and a depth and air supply pressure gauge so you have all you need to feel safe while underwater. Also, F1 Cressi silicone mask and many other models that will make sure you have the correct seal so that water stays out of your vision range. In addition to this, we also have full foot and open heel fins in all sizes as well as long and short 2mm and 3mm wetsuits.
Dive computers are provided to our students for every course, but otherwise rented for a fee.
Anything else you might require to use as your rental gear while diving with us, please request ahead of your arrival so we can have it available for you.
Our 27-foot custom-made dive boat, Rita, offers stability and spacious comfort with 24 tank holders, a wide aluminum top, and padded seats for longer trips. Sitting just 35 inches high, it makes water entries smooth and exits easy with a sturdy aluminum ladder on either side. Equipped with safety gear—including an oxygen kit, VHF radio, and First Aid kit—powered by a 200hp-4 stroke outboard, Rita can reach the furthest dive sites quickly and comfortably.
Our newer boat, Layla, built entirely on the island, is wider (8 ft) and longer (30 ft). With a 300hp Yamaha 4-stroke engine and trim tabs, it offers excellent stability. Designed for easy roll-back and giant-stride entries, Layla features a custom ladder with extra steps to make exits effortless.
Environmental sustainability is a priority for us. We use only 4-stroke engines instead of diesel or 2-strokes and biodegradable cleaning products for our boats, gear, and shop.
Having a dock makes our logistics so much easier! Boarding and exiting our boats becomes a simple task that avoids us getting wet before the dives. Being 80ft long and 8ft wide, it gives us a perfect spot to hang out between our dives and enjoy the sun. Crowned by a beautiful, shaded, 12 square feet ‘palapa’ where we usually conduct our classes, this beautiful wooden structure is not only an asset for our operation, but a great place to find interesting marine life while snorkeling.
Just off the end of the dock and at 5 ft deep, we find our dedicated confined water area where we safely teach skill practice in realistic ocean conditions. This scenic, family-friendly dock creates a welcoming environment that has become a place for both learning and socializing.
The story of Clearwater Adventures is one of dreams and hard work, forged with passion and determination, all while maintaining our distinctive personalized, smiley service.
By the end of the year 2014, when Roatan was already well established as a scuba destination in the Caribbean, our friends from Turtle Beach Resort realized they needed a reliable and safe dive operation in order to provide a quality, personalized service to their consistently increasing number of guests who were looking to discover the reef, whether it was through snorkel tours or scuba diving. When the owners of the resort approached us, we saw this as an excellent opportunity to start our own team and materialize our vision in an area of the island that had been widely overlooked by the scuba dive and snorkel industry. In addition to Denisse, we decided to get ahold of the best boat captain; Wilmer Cisneros.
Not really knowing what to expect, we decided to start small. We purchased 10 tanks, 4 full sets of dive gear, masks, snorkels, a few pairs of fins, a couple of wetsuits and a small 22ft Boston Whaler.
This is how on December 3rd of 2014 we catered to our first guests. Since then, our operation has expanded in order to accommodate the growing demand of our area, never loosing track of what moved us in the first place; excellence in customer service.
Today, operating as a very well-known and established dive center on the island, Clearwater Adventures has catered to over 2,000 guests, many of them returning to dive and snorkel with us year after year. This is certainly, one of the aspects of our job we love the most; we meet our guests as customers, and they depart as friends. Our goal is for our guests to feel Roatan is their second home and because we love our island, we are always inviting them to get involved by supporting our ongoing efforts to train and employ local youth. We believe this is one of our biggest assets and what ultimately distinguishes our company from the rest.
