Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

We know questions arise when planning your dream vacation, so we have gathered a few that we get often hoping they will help you better understand us and our operation

Where are you located? We are located in Roatan, Honduras. NOT in Clearwater, Florida. LOL. We get that a lot. More specifically, we are situated on the quiet beach located between West End and West Bay. We are a 2-minute walk from Turtle Beach Resort, 1-minute walk from The Boat Bar and 5-minute walk from Blue Roatan Resort.

How can I get to your place? You can either walk by the beach from West End (20 minutes) or West Bay (25 minutes), take a 5-minute water taxi to our dock or drive directly to us.

Do you have parking available? Yes, we do! Free parking is available for all our guests.

Is it customary to tip? If so, how much? In this part of the world, and specifically in our industry, tipping is customary and very much appreciated. Between 10% and 20% depending on your level of satisfaction with our services is appropriate. We encourage our guests to tip at the end of their stay, at the same time they pay their bill. This way, we divide among everyone that catered to you, which includes dive professionals, boat captains, tank boy and office staff if applicable.

Do you have a cancelation policy? Yes, we do and because we dislike enforcing it, we let our guests know about it in advanced. Any activity cancelled after 4pm the day it takes place, will be fully charged.

How big are your dive/snorkel groups? Our dive groups are limited to 6 certified divers per dive guide. In the case of courses, we limit to 4 students per instructor.  For snorkel tours we can take larger groups, and depending on the group size and experience, we send more than one guide with the group.

How small can your dive/snorkel groups be? We operate with a minimum of 2 divers/snorkelers during day outings, whether it is morning or afternoon. For Night Dives and Night Snorkels, we need a minimum of 3 people.

What is the capacity of your boats? We have two boats, Layla and Rita. Layla has capacity for 14 divers or 18 snorkelers, and Rita has a capacity for 11 divers or 15 snorkelers.

How long are your dives? We like to do 60 minutes dives, air permitting.

What times are your dives? We do 8.30am, 10.30am every day. Afternoon dive times are more flexible and vary depending on our guests schedule. Night Dives times also vary depending on sunset time and if our guests are doing it as part of their Advanced training.

Do you come back to your dock between dives/snorkels? Yes, we usually do. Unless we plan our dives/snorkels to another area of the island, which would be communicated with previous notice.

How far are the dive/snorkel sites you usually visit? We focus our dives/snorkels sites on the Marine Park Area comprehended between West Bay and Sandy Bay, so our boat rides are between 5 and 15 minutes.

Do you organize excursions to other areas if the island? Yes, we love excursions! On our 2-tank excursions we get to explore dive sites that are further away from our location. When organizing them, we keep weather conditions and our divers’ experience level in mind. Gas surcharges apply.

Do you decide dive sites ahead of time? We like to plan our dive sites based on the daily weather conditions and our divers’ skill level, so we usually do not plan our dive sites ahead. Nevertheless, we always try to take our divers to our favorite spots!

Will you keep track of the dive sites I visited? We will send you an email at the end of your stay with a list of the dive sites you visited and their profiles.

What payment methods do you accept? We take cash, credit card, Zelle, Venmo and Paypal.

We would still love to hear from you before you come to the island, so do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or doubts.
